Community Safety Report and new ChatGPT protections for teens
OpenAI committed to a twice-yearly Community Safety Report, with the first due in early 2027, and announced tighter ChatGPT limits on violence and weapons content for teens.
ChatGPT will give less detail about past mass attacks to all users, respond more conservatively when recent chats show warning signs of violence, and apply stricter limits when it predicts a user is under 18. It will also be able to end chats that show fixation on violence and may temporarily pause accounts after repeated cases. Teens get further limits on weapons and security system information, and parents are to be notified if a teen's account is paused for repeatedly discussing violence.
