The day in brief
MiniMax released M3.1 Flash on 19 October, an agent and coding model priced at $0.15 per million input tokens that Artificial Analysis scores 42 on its Intelligence Index.
MiniMax prices M3.1 Flash at $0.15 per million input tokens and $0.60 per million output tokens, with cached input at $0.015. The company says it uses more aggressive sparsity than M3, and it reports output above 200 tokens per second with a median above 170. MiniMax also says agentic tasks cost 70% less than on its predecessor and run nearly three times faster.
MiniMax reports 73.7% on DeepSWE v1.1 and 61.7 on OSWorld V2. Artificial Analysis, as reported by The Decoder, scores it 42 on its Intelligence Index, up from 29 for M3, at about $0.22 per task. The same evaluation measured a hallucination rate of 93%. Before launch the model ran anonymously as Space Bunny, which MiniMax says processed more than 200 trillion tokens.
Moonshot AI reportedly released Kimi K3.1 Pro on its API on 23 October. It's a mixture-of-experts model with 2.8 trillion parameters, of which 104 billion are active for each token, and a context window of 1 million tokens. Artificial Analysis scores it 55, behind Claude Opus 5.5 at 58 and 11 points above Kimi K3 (max). Moonshot reports 65.7 on Terminal-Bench 4.0, against 66.4 for Claude Opus 5.5.
Kimi K3.1 Pro costs $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. A Highspeed version runs two to three times faster at twice the price. Moonshot says it removed cyber-related data from training to reduce misuse, and it promises full weights by 4 November. Whether the open weights will match the API model is not yet known.
Ant Digital Technologies released LingDT-Decision-1.0 in 4B and 27B sizes on 23 October. The model chooses directly within a defined set of options, so no free text has to be written and then parsed into a decision. Ant reports more than 90% fewer tokens and up to 10 times faster responses than LLMs in customer service, risk control and financial tasks. It also says the model beats other decision models, including Microsoft-Decision-1 and Jev 1.13, on 23 open-source benchmarks.
LingDT-Decision-1.0 follows OpenAI's Decisions API, released in public beta on 6 October on gpt-6-luna at $0.10 per million input tokens. Ant's model is free for a limited time on its DTMaaS platform. Ant says it is the first decision model to support native multi-select and sequential decisions arranged as a directed acyclic graph.
