GPT-Synopsys
Synopsys and OpenAI announced a multi-year partnership to build GPT-Synopsys, a specialized model that operates Synopsys EDA tools to run chip design workflows, with shared revenue.
Today agentic AI connects general-purpose models to EDA tools. GPT-Synopsys is meant to be a native expert user of those tools, running them, interpreting outputs and iterating on designs for power, performance and area. It runs on OpenAI-hosted infrastructure, works with customer agent harnesses and integrates with Synopsys.ai and Synopsys Autopilot. OpenAI will license Synopsys EDA tools to develop it.
