STEPX Neo

StepFun launched its first AI agent smartphone, the STEPX Neo early-access edition, priced at 3,999 yuan ($597), running its own operating system Step AOS 1.0.

A model developer now sells its own phone with its own operating system instead of relying on phone makers. It has dual screens and the Amoo assistant, and uses Model Context Protocol to reach third-party apps such as Meituan, with Alipay and Tencent's WorkBuddy as ecosystem partners. The device was first shown at the World AI Conference in Shanghai in July 2026.
