Open Agent Safety Platform

Nvidia announced the Open Agent Safety Platform, an open reference design that pairs the OpenShell runtime with a hardware watchdog called Sentry to contain AI agents.

Policy enforcement moves outside the agent and the model. OpenShell is an Apache 2.0 runtime that enforces policy in the Linux kernel, keeps credentials in a gateway outside the sandbox, and uses a policy prover to check boundaries before an agent runs. Sentry is an Nvidia hardware watchdog built on BlueField and DOCA, and Tom's Hardware says it can quarantine agents in milliseconds.

OpenShell is open and runs on Arm and x86, but Sentry is an Nvidia implementation on BlueField and DOCA, and Network World says no formal measurements have been published yet.
