Personal Android apps from AI Studio on Google Play

Google lets US users aged 18 and over vibe-code an Android app in AI Studio and install it privately through Google Play with a standard Google account.

Before, running a self-built native Android app meant publishing it to Google Play or installing it from a computer. Now an app built in AI Studio can be sent to a private Personal Library in Play, where it is visible only to its creator and skips Google review. Sharing with a small group of friends and family, and a path to a full public release after trust and safety review, are planned for the coming months.
