Craft
Canva launched Craft, its first image generation model built from scratch, which plans composition, layout and text before generating an image.
Canva previously relied on frontier models from other companies for image generation. Craft plans composition, layout and text first, aiming for legible lettering and designs that need fewer corrections. Canva says distillation cut the inference steps to a fraction of the original model. Two variants, Craft-fast and Craft-ultrafast, are upcoming.
