TRAE (merged TraeWork and TraeCode)
ByteDance merged its TraeWork office agent app and TraeCode coding app into one TRAE client with Agent and IDE modes on desktop, web and mobile. TraeWork stops service on October 23.
TraeWork handled office tasks and content generation, and TraeCode handled professional coding. They are now one app with a switchable Agent mode and IDE mode. Agent mode runs several agents in parallel across projects and can connect to SSH remote environments, and IDE mode keeps full code editing and debugging. Automated tasks, a template library, My Assistant and Project Artifacts now sit in one workflow, and chats, account data, local data and credits migrate automatically. Some developers complain that the app opens in Agent mode by default and has no setting to change that.
